Miki Nemoto - Calligrapher/ink painter
Bringing light to people's hearts through calligraphy and ink painting.
Miki Nemoto is from Shirakawa City in Fukushima.
She began practicing calligraphy at the age of eight and moved to Tokyo in 2015 to begin her independent career.Since 2023, she has been traveling across Japan to collect “Meisui”—the country’s renowned spring waters—and creates her works by grinding ink with the water she gathers herself. Each stroke carries the unique energy of these natural waters.
She has produced more than 600 artworks, including custom calligraphy pieces, logo designs, and works for solo exhibitions, which have been delivered to clients both in Japan and overseas.
Her diverse activities include providing calligraphy for major corporate video productions and creating a 3-meter-square ceiling painting dedicated to Kannonji Temple in Okinawa.

Whether it is a favorite word or phrase, a naming book, a corporate philosophy or a store logo, Miki will select the style of character and framing that best suit your requirements, and after first gaining a thorough understanding of what you desire and what you are hoping for, she will provide you with your own completely exclusive work. Characters rendered in black ink have a unique warmth that simply cannot be replicated in digital form.
Original calligraphy works
Miki can produce a work of calligraphy featuring your favorite character or phrase. She will create a work that meets your needs in terms of size and framing, and provide you with a piece of calligraphy that is completely original and unique.

◆Calligraphy Experience
Experience the traditional Japanese art of calligraphy and ink painting.
You can write your name in kanji or any phrase you like with a brush. It makes a perfect souvenir from your trip.

To ensure the smooth running of calligraphy performances and workshops, we ask that you discuss the location, schedule, care management, event theme, and more with us in advance.
◆Calligraphy and ink brush painting performances
Miki can provide live performances that suit your event.
Only with a live performance can an audience see the movement of the brush, the expression of the ink, and the emotions of the face of the calligrapher close up.
Miki is also open to collaborations with musicians, dancers, and other people for the purpose of sharing free expression through art.
You can keep any art that is produced in a performance as commemorative works.

Miki Nemoto is also holding solo exhibitions of calligraphy and ink painting.
